Present at the domestic terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport from 6am to check in and check in luggage, waiting for the flight to Dong Hoi city (Quang Binh) at 7:15am today, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Chau (27 years old, living in Binh Thanh district) said that her check-in time was very quick, without having to wait long.
"I saw the most people returning to their hometown on January 24 (December 25) because that was the last working day, so today the airport was not as crowded as the previous days. I completed the procedures very quickly," said Ms. Chau.
According to Lao Dong reporters, at the check-in counters of airlines, passengers queue up to check in faster, no longer waiting for hours.
There was no crowding or congestion at the waiting area, the entrance to the station and the security screening gate.
At the international terminal, many families waiting for relatives to return home for Tet are not as crowded as the previous days.
The roads leading to and from Tan Son Nhat airport are also very clear, a far cry from the kilometer-long traffic jams that occurred before the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to an update from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, on January 27, the number of flights and passengers passing through the airport decreased slightly with 957 flights, with about 138,086 passengers departing/arriving. Of which, the number of passengers on the outbound side was more than 88,000 (yesterday, January 26, it was 94,622 passengers).
