On June 6, Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Huyen signed and issued an official dispatch requesting relevant departments and branches to rectify the management of slaughter activities and the slaughter control process to ensure disease safety and food safety in the province.

The Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to strictly implement the provisions of the law on veterinary medicine and the directives of the Central and the Province on veterinary management, quarantine, slaughter control to ensure food safety, disease safety; slaughter control process at slaughterhouses.
The dispatch also clearly stated that the Department of Agriculture and Environment was assigned to review and strictly handle the responsibility of civil servants for violations.
The Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Health, and the Provincial Police to strengthen surprise inspections of veterinary medicine and food safety for slaughterhouses; immediately rectify and strictly handle the slaughter of pigs that are sick or dead due to epidemics, slaughterhouses that do not ensure sanitary hygiene conditions, food safety, and the use of chemicals and additives prohibited in slaughter.

Earlier, on the same day on June 6, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hau Giang province responded to the official letter of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang Province on the results of inspection and verification of C.P Company's case accused of selling dirty meat. The content reflected related to images originating from Hau Giang province.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hau Giang province has established an inspection team to verify the information. The inspection team includes: Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling, and Environment; Hau Giang Provincial Police; Inspectorate of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine - Fisheries.
The inspection results show that from March 2022 to July 2022, there were no diseases in offshore animals in Hau Giang province that had to be declared epidemic.
In the spirit of coordination with Soc Trang province, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hau Giang province has established a team to inspect 2 slaughterhouses for CP Company, Dam - Nga (Phung Hiep district) and Nguyen Dan Hau Giang (Chau Thanh A district).

At the time of inspection, the amount of cattle and poultry waiting to be slaughtered at these two facilities had a clear origin, without any signs or symptoms of dangerous infectious diseases.
Notably, the inspection team recorded a picture of sick pork belly posted on social media on March 26, 2022 being slaughtered at the Dam - Nga slaughterhouse. This facility is signing a contract for processing slaughter for CP Company - Hau Giang branch.
During the slaughter control process, veterinary staff discovered 2 patches of pork belly (weighing 72.6 kg) that were not hygienic. They requested employees of CP Company to coordinate in handling veterinary hygiene for animal products that do not meet hygiene requirements according to regulations.
The employees of CP Company took a photo and sent it to the Zalo group to report to the company's leaders and received the company's leaders' approval to treat veterinary hygiene at the Dung - Nga slaughterhouse, by boiling and changing the purpose of use as seafood feed.
According to the report of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine - Fisheries, from March 25, 2022 to April 1, 2022, the Dung - Nga slaughterhouse did not register to quarantine animal products exported from Hau Giang province to Soc Trang province.
As Lao Dong reported, on the morning of May 30, a person claiming to be an employee of CP Company posted an article on social media accusing the store and some leaders of CP Company of bringing poor quality meat to the market. On the same day, Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Lau directed Soc Trang Provincial Police and related sectors to conduct an inspection, if there are any violations, they will be strictly handled according to the law.
