On July 24, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan issued urgent instructions on inspection and handling of the situation of flooding along the new road along Dinh River (Quy Nhon Dong Ward), after the press reported the pollution in this area.

Accordingly, the Chairman of Gia Lai province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong ward to urgently inspect, verify, and completely handle the situation of illegal dumping of household waste, construction waste and other types of waste along the Dinh river. The implementation results must be reported to the Provincial People's Committee before August 15.
As Lao Dong has reported, for nearly a month now, the road along the Dinh River has been flooded with household waste and construction soap. The environment in this area is seriously polluted, the landscape is shabby, affecting people's lives.
