HCMC - Chairman of HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc suggested that Becamex Binh Duong Group participate in investing in key transportation and industrial projects.

At the meeting on July 4 on the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year and the direction for the last 6 months of 2025, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that in order to develop worthyly, Ho Chi Minh City needs at least two large corporations to play a leading role.

One is Becamex Binh Duong - a unit with the strength and experience in implementing many large projects. The second is to restructure state-owned enterprises in the old Ho Chi Minh City to form a new group.

Mr. Duoc emphasized: "These two groups need to cooperate and take advantage of each other's advantages to develop the new Ho Chi Minh City together".

According to Mr. Duoc, Ho Chi Minh City is currently implementing a series of large-scale infrastructure projects, including 7 urban railway lines.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested that Becamex Binh Duong Group propose to participate in investing in metro lines, as well as some key transport routes such as expanding National Highway 1, extending Nguyen Van Linh Street, expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway...

"We can completely create conditions for domestic enterprises, especially Ho Chi Minh City enterprises, to participate in key projects, form large, multi-industry corporations, and directly contribute to the city's development" - Mr. Duoc said.

In addition to transportation, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc also encouraged Becamex Binh Duong to study the planning of industrial parks and high-tech parks in Ho Chi Minh City based on appropriate land funds, creating momentum to attract investment and develop the local economy.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex Binh Duong Group - expressed his willingness to accompany Ho Chi Minh City in the new development stage.

According to Mr. Hung, Becamex is currently listed on the stock market, owning 37 member companies with total assets of up to VND 160,000 billion.

"This is a huge resource if Ho Chi Minh City creates conditions for businesses like Becamex to participate in socio-economic development projects" - Mr. Hung emphasized.

Mr. Hung also said that when Ho Chi Minh City merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Becamex has proactively carefully researched inter-regional planning projects to be ready to intervene.

In the first 6 months of 2025, this enterprise has deployed about 200 km of major traffic routes in Binh Duong with a total investment of VND 60,000 billion.

Ho Chi Minh City is under a lot of pressure on infrastructure. Becamex wishes to be assigned the task of participating in investing in the development of urban railways and key transport projects, both contributing to reducing the burden on the city and being a practical project to welcome the upcoming Party Congresses at all levels" - Mr. Hung said.

The Chairman of Becamex Binh Duong also hopes to continue to coordinate with departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City to implement industrial and infrastructure projects, contributing to the sustainable development of the city in the new period.
