On the morning of June 22, Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee - was directly present at the scene of the forest fire in Thien Nhan commune to direct firefighting work.
Accompanying him were Mr. Nguyen Van De - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and representatives of functional forces.
At the scene, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested the forces to urgently deploy a plan to control the fire, not to let the fire continue to spread; and at the same time ensure safety for firefighters and people in the surrounding area.
Previously, at about 2 pm on June 21, a fire suddenly broke out in the vegetation area on the hill in hamlet 3, Khanh Son, Thien Nhan commune. Initially, the fire appeared on a small scale. However, due to prolonged intense hot weather, high temperature, combined with strong southwest foehn wind blowing, the fire quickly spread.
Until about 11 pm on the same day, the fire still broke out strongly on the hillsides. Faced with complicated developments, local authorities coordinated with Nam Dan - Hung Nguyen Forest Protection Department, Mobile Forest Protection Team and Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 1 to mobilize hundreds of people to participate in extinguishing the fire.
The force participating in firefighting includes officers and soldiers of the Army, Police, Forest Rangers and local people. Fire and Rescue Police Department No. 7 also promptly mobilized fire trucks to the fire area to support forest fire fighting.
The forces worked overnight to deploy many measures to control the fire and limit damage caused by forest fires.
