Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen has signed and issued official dispatch No. 1634/UBND-XDĐT on the implementation of key tasks and solutions to promote the disbursement of public investment capital in 2026.
The economic growth scenario for 2026 of Can Tho City is to strive for disbursement in the first quarter of 2026 to reach 20%; the second quarter of 2026 to reach 50%; the third quarter of 2026 to reach 75% and by December 31, 2026 to reach 100% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

The official dispatch was sent to the Director of the Department; Heads of agencies, departments, and branches of the City; Director of the State Treasury of Region XIX; Secretary of communes and wards; Chairman of the People's Committee of communes and wards in Can Tho City with many notes.
Accordingly, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee has requested investors to strengthen inspection and supervision of the performance of official duties of related individuals and units, individualize the responsibility of heads in case of slow disbursement, attach responsibility, and assess the level of work completion of assigned individuals and units with the disbursement progress of each project.
Especially the disbursement results of the 2026 public investment plan are a key criterion to assess the level of task completion of collectives and individuals, directly linked to the responsibility of the head.
The Director of the Department of Finance has the task of urgently reviewing the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030, advising and proposing to the City People's Committee to assign and assign tasks to prepare for investment in projects expected to start newly; preside over and coordinate with specialized construction agencies to monitor, urge, and guide the completion of investment procedures for projects to ensure quality, progress, and sufficient conditions for deployment right from the beginning of the 2026-2030 period in accordance with regulations.

According to this official dispatch, the chairmen of commune and ward People's Committees related to site clearance for projects must strengthen direction and be fully responsible for the progress of site clearance in the area.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of communes and wards also directed departments, boards, and affiliated units to closely coordinate with investors and project management boards to immediately remove difficulties and obstacles related to land origin, compensation policies, and resettlement support; prioritize site clearance for projects expected to start and be completed in 2026, not allowing projects to be stalled due to slow site handover.
