In early May 2025, when the hot summer suns appeared, Tinh Huc pebble on the Lo River (adjacent to Nong Tien and Hung Thanh Wards, Tuyen Quang City) became bustling with hundreds of people, mostly children, coming to swim and play.
Currently, it is the peak of the dry season, so sand dunes running along the riverbed have been exposed. These areas have unintentionally become ideal spontaneous beaches for people.
Ms. Le Thi N (Phan Thiet ward, Tuyen Quang city) said: "In the early summer, the weather was hot, so the evening was cool, I took the children to this beach to have fun. The area near the water is quite shallow and the bottom can be seen, so it is not too scary".

However, many people with river experience are worried about the risk of drowning at this spontaneous beach. Mr. Tran Cong Hoang (Nong Tien ward) said that almost every year there is a tragic drowning incident here.
"Seeing it like that, the water of the Lo River flows strongly, not to mention the areas where sand is exploited to create deep holes, it is very dangerous for bathers to fall there. Children playing here need to be closely monitored by adults," said Mr. Hoang.
In fact, there have been some tragic drowning incidents. In April 2022, a 10th grade student in Tuyen Quang City was swept away by water and died at this spontaneous beach.
Although the local authorities have put up warning signs and warned people, the beach cannot stop the flow of people coming in every day.
Informing reporters, a leader of Nong Tien Ward People's Committee admitted to having many difficulties to prevent spontaneous beaches on the Lo River.
"We can't ban it because local authorities can't always be there. We have put up signs, warnings and also propagated so that people clearly understand the risks that may occur," the ward leader informed.
