At the Conference, Can Tho City Police and related agencies signed minutes of transfer and receipt of state management tasks under the direction of the Central Government, the Ministry of Public Security, relevant ministries and the City People's Committee.
Accordingly, from March 1, 2025, the City Police will receive comprehensive and full tasks: State management of criminal records and implementation of public services for issuing criminal records from the Department of Justice; State management of safety and network information security from the Department of Information and Communications; Ensuring aviation security from Can Tho International Airport; Testing and granting road motor vehicle driving licenses from the Department of Transport; State management of drug addiction treatment and post-drug addiction management from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs.
Regarding the task of ensuring aviation security, the City Police have announced the Decision to establish an Aviation Security Team under the Immigration Department. This is in line with the policy of the Ministry of Public Security on assigning the Immigration Department to provinces and centrally run cities with airports.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - emphasized the necessity in handing over and receiving tasks, ensuring safety, compliance with regulations, and protecting state secrets.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee stated that he urgently coordinated the announcement of administrative procedures for issuing Judicial Records, publicly posting them on the City Public Service Portal and the necessary conditions for receiving them at the City Public Administration Center (under the People's Committee Office) to serve people, businesses and organizations.
Major General Nguyen Van Thuan - Director of Can Tho City Police - said that the unit will strengthen propaganda and guidance work so that people clearly understand the changes in administrative procedures related to new tasks and fields.
The acceptance of these 5 state management tasks is expected to make an important contribution to the administrative reform process, improving management efficiency and service quality for local people.
