At 3:46 p.m. on October 11, Center 114 of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hai Phong City Police received a fire report from the people about a fire at a clothing kiosk in the Dragon Market area, Tran Phu Commune.
Immediately after receiving the report, Center 114 mobilized forces and fire fighting equipment from the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 7 to quickly arrive at the scene, and at the same time notified the Electricity Department of the power cut area, ensuring safety during the rescue implementation.
According to initial information, the fire did not cause any human casualties; the burned kiosks were at risk of spreading to neighboring stalls. The fire fighting force actively deployed measures to prevent the fire from spreading and completely extinguishing the fire. Currently, the City Police Department coordinated with Tran Phu Commune Police to investigate the cause of the fire according to regulations.
The authorities of Tran Phu commune have also just preliminarily collected statistics on the damage caused by the dragon market fire on the afternoon of October 11.
Accordingly, 66 kiosks (each kiosk is about 12 m2) of 26 business households were burned down, mainly kiosks selling clothes, shoes, hats and household appliances. Initial damage was estimated at about 1 billion VND. The fire did not cause any human casualties.
Currently, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Tran Phu commune is coordinating with the City Police, functional forces and affected business households to conduct property statistics and deploy further support plans.
