On March 25, information from the Traffic Police Department, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that the unit had found the car that caused the accident that killed 1 person in Bat Xat commune and then fled.
Accordingly, at about 8 pm on March 23, at Km6+950, provincial road 156 (section passing through Ban Qua village, Bat Xat commune), a traffic accident occurred between a resident and a car.
After the collision, the related vehicle left the scene. As a result, Mr. H.V. T (born 1978, residing in Ban Qua village, Bat Xat commune) died.

Immediately upon receiving the information, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police coordinated with Bat Xat Commune Police to urgently examine the scene, collect traces, and organize to track down the vehicle.
From initial information from people about a small-truck truck showing signs of colliding with a concrete guardrail, stopping for a short time and then continuing to move, functional forces conducted a review of the security camera system on the roads.
Through comparing the time, vehicle characteristics and direction of movement, functional agencies determined that the suspected vehicle was a delivery truck of Dien may Xanh system.

The task force quickly worked with the management unit, reviewed the vehicle and discovered one vehicle that had not returned to the warehouse within the time frame of the incident.
At about 11 pm on the same day, after nearly 3 hours of tracing, functional forces identified the car with license plate 51D-480. 81 driven by Mr. M.D. T (born 1997, residing in Lao Cai ward) as the related vehicle.
Check at the place where the vehicle is parked, the traces on the vehicle match the traces at the scene.
Currently, the Traffic Police force has handed over the vehicle driver and exhibits to Bat Xat Commune Police for further investigation and handling according to regulations. Through initial inspection, the driver had no alcohol concentration and was negative for drugs.

According to functional agencies, the act of causing an accident and then leaving the scene not only causes difficulties for rescue and investigation work but is also an aggravating circumstance according to Clause 2, Article 260 of the Penal Code, with a prison sentence of 3 to 10 years.
The Traffic Police force recommends that traffic participants strictly comply with legal regulations; when an accident occurs, they must stop the vehicle, maintain the scene, promptly support the victims and coordinate with functional agencies to handle according to regulations.
