On March 15, voters in Can Tho City and the whole country participated in the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council (HĐND) deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. To ensure security and order (ANTT) for the great festival of the whole people, the Police force in Can Tho has deployed many protection plans, strengthened patrols and controls overnight, and are ready to handle any arising situations.

In Nhon Ai commune, the commune police force has proactively coordinated with the military force and grassroots security and order forces to organize closed patrols in the area, protecting the safety of polling areas and voter listing points.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Lich - Head of Nhon Ai Commune Police (Can Tho City) - said that during the peak days of serving the election, the working intensity of the Commune Police force is raised to the highest level. Patrol teams are arranged to operate continuously to control the local situation and promptly detect unusual signs.

If on normal days they only patrol in shifts or when there are reports, then in the period before and during the election day, every 3 hours there will be 2 closed patrol teams in the area. In particular, mobile patrol teams focus on the time frame from 10 pm to 5 am the next morning to control the movement of strangers, and at the same time protect listed points and polling areas" - Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Lich informed.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Lich, instead of rotating 50% of the troops on duty as usual, all officers and soldiers are mobilized 100% of the troops on duty from 5:00 PM on March 13 to 7:00 AM on March 16, 2026 to ensure security and order (ANTT) before, during and after the election day.

In each polling area, the Police force is assigned to set up checkpoints together with the Military force and grassroots security and order forces. The task is not only to patrol but also to guard and absolutely protect the safety of ballot boxes and election documents, and at the same time maintain order so that people can feel secure in exercising their rights and obligations as voters.
In addition to armed patrol activities, working groups also take advantage of reviewing the situation of temporary residence and temporary absence in the area; propagate and remind people to raise vigilance, promptly detect and notify unusual signs to functional forces.

Previously, at the Conference to deploy the plan to ensure security and order to serve the election, Major General Huynh Viet Hoa - Director of Can Tho City Police - requested the Police of units and localities to identify the task of ensuring security and order for the election as the top priority task.
According to Major General Huynh Viet Hoa, units must deploy the highest level of protection, firmly grasp the situation at election teams and key areas; and closely coordinate with the military force and local departments and agencies in protection work, not allowing any negligence, even the smallest one.
Along with the task of maintaining social order and safety, the Police force also focuses on maintaining etiquette and style, wholeheartedly guiding and supporting people at polling stations, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of the People's Police soldier on the great festival of the country.
