In order to respond to floods, Phu Tho Provincial Police deployed a disaster response plan according to the "4 on-site" motto, arranging forces and vehicles in key areas.
The Fire and Rescue Police Department reviews and distributes life jackets to the police of communes at high risk of flooding.
Traffic police forces strengthen patrols, put up warning signs, and set up checkpoints at culverts, spillways and deeply flooded areas.
In An Nghia commune, heavy rain caused floodwaters to rise, causing flooding in some areas. The commune police coordinated with forces at the grassroots level to support people to move people, belongings and property to a safe place. Households with elderly people, children and people facing difficulties in moving are prioritized for support.
In Toan Thang commune, on the night of September 16, the police force coordinated to relocate 20 households with 47 people in Gia Phu village to a safe place.
In Hop Kim commune, 20 officers and soldiers were mobilized to support households with soil cracks to move people and property out of dangerous areas.
Faced with the complicated developments of rain and floods, Phu Tho Provincial Police maintained 24/24 hour duty, closely monitored the situation, and were ready to provide forces and vehicles when requested.
The police recommend that people proactively prop up and move property, do not go through deep flooded areas, fast-flowing water and comply with the instructions of functional forces.
