On May 25, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of Tuy An District People's Committee (Phu Yen Province) confirmed that he had directed An Dan Commune Police to investigate the clip recording a husband brutally beating his wife, which has been circulating on social media for many hours.
"The wife who was beaten by her husband in the clip was the one who posted the video on social media, and also went to An Dan Commune Police to report the incident," said the leader of Tuy An District People's Committee.
According to the leader of Tuy An District People's Committee, the clip recording the scene of the wife assaulted by the husband and wife caused a stir in the public opinion. Before the serious incident and strong response from the online community, the local authorities asked the police of An Dan commune to work with related individuals and verify specifically to have a basis for handling.
Previously, on the evening of May 24, information and clips appeared on Facebook recording a scene of a man using his hands and feet to repeatedly hit his wife in the head, despite the woman continuously screaming. All the violent acts took place in the garden, witnessed by neighbors.
After a short time of posting, the clip attracted thousands of interactions, comments, and shares. Many accounts expressed their anger and condemned the husband's domestic violence.
Through verification, the incident occurred at around 2:52 p.m. the same day in An Dan commune (Tuy An district). The husband in the clip was identified as D.H, residing in the locality. Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the incident.
