By the morning of May 2nd, the Commune Police force coordinated with units under the Commune People's Committee and the Vinh Long Provincial Forest Protection Department to organize searches within a radius of about 3km but did not discover the crocodile.
Through verification, functional agencies determined that the images provided by the people showed signs of being edited using AI technology to create false information.

The commune police announced to help people understand the incident, not panic, and feel secure in working, producing and living normally.
