On January 20, Nhon My Commune Police, An Giang province said that a resident had reported the discovery of mortar shells in the bushes.
Previously, Nhon My Commune Police, An Giang province received a report from Mr. Trieu Van Phuol (born in 1995, residing in My Hoa hamlet, Nhon My commune) about the discovery of an object suspected to be a firecracker in the wild grass area of My Hoa residential area.
Immediately after receiving the information, Nhon My Commune Police quickly coordinated with the Commune Military Command to organize forces to the scene, proceeded to zone and protect the area. Through inspection, functional forces determined that the object was a mortar shell, about 40cm long, posing a risk of unsafety if not handled promptly.
Nhon My Commune Police praised the sense of responsibility and vigilance of Mr. Trieu Van Phuol as a noteworthy action, contributing to helping functional forces promptly prevent the risk of serious consequences, maintain security, order and peace in the residential area.
Through the incident, Nhon My Commune Police advised the people that when detecting objects suspected of being bombs, mines, artillery shells or explosives, they should absolutely not contact, not move, not gather curiously; and at the same time quickly notify the Police force or local authorities for timely handling. Each report from the people is a practical action, contributing to ensuring security, order and safety in the area.
