On July 10, leaders of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) said that they had directed the Ward Police to verify and clarify the case of a group of tourist electric car drivers arguing during the process of picking up tourists, which has been spreading on social networks in recent days.
According to initial information, at about 7:30 pm on July 6, in the area in front of a hotel lobby on Nguyen Hue street (Quy Nhon ward), 2 tourist electric vehicle drivers (orange shirts) of Suntaxi Joint Stock Company Branch in Binh Dinh had a fight with 1 electric vehicle driver (yellow shirt) wearing the Thai Binh logo.

Here, 2 orange-shirted drivers continuously cursed and threatened the yellow-shirted driver because they thought that this driver came to pick up passengers in their "parking lot" area without permission.
Meanwhile, the yellow-shirted electric car driver said that he only came to pick up passengers who had booked cars through the system. A female tourist believed to be the person who booked the car also spoke up to confirm when she saw this driver being questioned by 2 orange-shirted drivers.
The incident took place in front of many tourists and people. After the clip was shared on social networks, it quickly attracted public attention.
Many opinions expressed concern that the act of competing for customers will affect the image of civilized, friendly, and hospitable tourism of Quy Nhon, especially at a time when the province is organizing the 2026 National Tourism Year.
Many people proposed that functional agencies strictly handle violations to avoid affecting the tourism image of the locality.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the tourist electric vehicle unit with the Thai Binh logo said: "On the evening of July 6, our driver came to the hotel to pick up customers who had booked through the system when 2 orange-shirted drivers aggressively demanded to beat him because they thought they were competing for customers. After the incident, the 2 electric vehicle units worked together to resolve it.
Mr. Bui Dinh Thong - representative of Suntaxi Joint Stock Company Branch in Binh Dinh - confirmed that the 2 drivers wearing orange shirts in the clip are employees of the unit.
Mr. Thong said that the branch has rented a reception area in front of hotel No. 16 Nguyen Hue for 6 million VND/month and has been operating here for about 4-5 years.
At the time of the incident, the 2 drivers of the branch had been waiting for about 2 hours but had not been able to pick up passengers. When they saw the yellow-shirted electric car driver coming to pick up passengers, the two sides exchanged words leading to an argument.
Immediately after the incident, we invited the 2 drivers to work and decided to temporarily suspend work for both until there are new instructions," Mr. Thong said.
