On July 7, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said it had agreed on the policy of piloting the organization of 4-wheeled electric vehicles to serve sightseeing and tourism in the western area of the province for a period of 6 months.
According to the plan, the province will pilot on 3 tourist routes, including: Route No. 1 connecting Dai Doan Ket Square - Minh Thanh Pagoda - embankment area; route No. 2 connecting Dai Doan Ket Square - Plei Op cultural and tourist village; route No. 3 passing through Bien Ho Tourist Area - Hundred-year-old pine trees - Tien Son Bridge - Ngo Son rice field area or Chu Dang Ya volcano.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Committees of localities and transport units to review and complete the plan to organize the operation of 4-wheeled electric vehicles.
At the same time, develop a traffic diversion plan in Pleiku urban area and related areas; determine the location of stops and wharves; coordinate with localities to install traffic signs and organize synchronous traffic.
At the end of the pilot period, the Department of Construction will assess the exploitation efficiency, difficulties and arising problems to advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider implementation plans in the coming time.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant units to promote propaganda, create consensus among the people; link electric vehicle activities with tourism product development, contributing to improving the tourist experience and building the image of Gia Lai's destination.
The Provincial Police are responsible for coordinating guidance and inspection of the organization of 4-wheeled electric vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations on traffic order and safety and related regulations.
