On March 25, the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation announced that it had issued a document requesting trade unions of communes, wards and affiliated units to promote propaganda about the sea and islands in 2026 among union members and workers.
The content of propaganda focuses on developing marine culture associated with national identity; affirming the role of marine economy; raising awareness of law compliance in marine activities.
At the same time, strengthen propaganda on preventing and combating illegal fishing (IUU), commending typical examples, and criticizing violations.
Units also focused on propagating international cooperation, Vietnam's contributions to sea and island issues; reflecting the support of the international community, along with good models, good people, good deeds and socio-economic development in coastal areas associated with ensuring national defense and security.
According to Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen - Standing Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation, trade unions at all levels need to proactively and flexibly deploy in accordance with reality; promote the application of information technology, digital transformation, and strengthen propaganda on digital platforms and social networks.
Promptly identify and handle misinformation and fake news; develop diverse and widespread propaganda products; coordinate with agencies and units to raise awareness about sea and island sovereignty for union members and workers.
