Trillion-VND project opens the way for marine economy, boosting tourism in Ninh Binh

Ninh Binh - The Lach Giang estuary channel complex contributes to promoting the marine economy, opening up more momentum for marine tourism development in Ninh Binh.

The canal construction complex through Lach Giang estuary in Hai Thinh commune, Ninh Binh province is invested with a cost of trillions of VND, including a ship channel and a wave-breaking dyke system stretching for kilometers. After being put into operation, the project not only ensures waterway traffic but also contributes to changing the face of the estuary area.

According to local people, every day there are hundreds of turns of fishing boats and transport ships passing through Lach Giang estuary. The busiest time is usually around 11 am to 12 noon.

Mr. Vu Van Dai - Head of the Economic Department of Hai Thinh commune said that the canal construction complex through Lach Giang estuary not only serves waterway traffic but also creates motivation for the development of the local marine economy.

The channel through Lach Giang estuary operates to help fishing boats enter and exit the estuary more conveniently, even at low tide times. At peak times, there are nearly 1,000 vehicles anchored along the Ninh Co River. Thanks to that, many households in the locality have more jobs and stable income.

For Hai Thinh, the economy is not only based on tourism. At times when the number of visitors decreases or the tourist season ends, fishery logistics activities are still bustling, creating livelihoods for people. In addition, the project also contributes to improving the landscape and environment of the estuary area, creating favorable conditions for the development of marine tourism in the coming time," Mr. Dai said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (a tourist from Hanoi) shared: "I have been to Thinh Long beach tourist area many times and have noticed that the landscape here has changed a lot positively. What impressed me the most is that the sea water is cleaner and clearer than before, the beach is also airy and beautiful, so it is very suitable for swimming and walking. Lach Giang estuary area also has many boats entering and leaving, creating a very typical scene of the sea area. I think if we continue to maintain the current environment, Thinh Long will attract more and more tourists".

Not only opening the way for ships to reach out to sea, the canal construction complex through Lach Giang estuary also contributes to creating sustainable livelihoods for people, improving the landscape and coastal environment. Along with increasingly complete transport infrastructure, the project is becoming one of the important driving forces for Hai Thinh to promote its marine economic potential, gradually making Thinh Long tourism an attractive destination of Ninh Binh province.
