According to the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, the traffic volume in the days leading up to Tet is concentrated at the gateways to the city, bus stations, train stations, airports and main axes. Meanwhile, many areas are under construction and traffic infrastructure adjustment, so congestion easily arises, affecting people's lives and traffic safety and order.
To proactively regulate and divert traffic, creating favorable conditions for people to move conveniently and safely, the Traffic Police Department has guided alternative routes in a series of key areas.
Binh Trieu 1 Bridge area
Route 1: From Hang Xanh roundabout to Pham Van Dong
From Hang Xanh roundabout → Xo Viet Nghe Tinh → National Highway 13 → turn left at Dinh Bo Linh → turn right into Nguyen Xi → turn right into Pham Van Dong across Binh Loi bridge.
Route 2: From the center to Pham Van Dong
From Le Van Duyet → turn left into Phan Dang Luu → turn right into No Trang Long → turn left into Nguyen Xi → turn right into Pham Van Dong across Binh Loi bridge.
Binh Trieu 2 Bridge
Route 1: National Highway 13 → Pham Van Dong → Binh Loi bridge.
Route 2: Pham Van Dong → To Ngoc Van → Thu Duc Market Roundabout → Vo Van Ngan → Dang Van Bi → Nguyen Van Ba → Vo Nguyen Giap → Rach Chiec bridge.
Route 3: Binh Phuoc roundabout → National Highway 13 → Hiep Binh → Pham Van Dong → Kha Van Can → road No. 2 → Nguyen Van Ba → Vo Nguyen Giap → Rach Chiec bridge.
An Phu intersection
Route 1: Vo Nguyen Giap Street → Rach Chiec Bridge → Vo Nguyen Giap Street → Hanoi Highway → Dong Nai Bridge.
Route 2: Mai Chi Tho → Dong Van Cong.
Route 3: Tran Nao Street → Mai Chi Tho or Tran Nao Street → To Huu.
Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway access road (when the Traffic Police Department restricts vehicles from entering the expressway)
Route 1: Saigon River tunnel → Mai Chi Tho → Vo Nguyen Giap → Do Muoi → Dong Nai bridge → Dong Nai.
Route 2: Phu My Bridge → Vo Chi Cong → go straight through Phu Huu roundabout → Vo Chi Cong → go straight through Lien Phuong roundabout → turn left on D1 road → High-Tech Park → turn right on Vo Nguyen Giap → go straight to Do Muoi → Dong Nai bridge → Dong Nai.
Route 3: Phu My Bridge → Vo Chi Cong → turn right at My Thuy roundabout → Nguyen Thi Dinh → end of the road to Cat Lai Ferry → Dong Nai.
Binh Dien Bridge area (Ho Chi Minh City - Tay Ninh direction)
Route 1: An Lac roundabout → Le Kha Phieu → Tran Dai Nghia → Nguyen Cuu Phu → The Lu (or Nguyen Huu Tri) → Vo Tran Chi (or Bui Thanh Khiet) → Ho Chi Minh City Expressway → Trung Luong (or Le Kha Phieu) to the Mekong Delta provinces.
Route 2: An Lac roundabout → Le Kha Phieu → Hung Nhon → Nguyen Cuu Phu → The Lu (or Nguyen Huu Tri) → Vo Tran Chi (or Bui Thanh Khiet) → Ho Chi Minh City Expressway → Trung Luong (or Le Kha Phieu) to the Mekong Delta provinces.
Route 3: An Suong area → Le Duc Anh → Vo Tran Chi → Ho Chi Minh City Expressway → Trung Luong (or Le Kha Phieu) to the Mekong Delta provinces.
Suitable route from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai province
Route 1: Saigon River tunnel → Mai Chi Tho → Vo Nguyen Giap → Do Muoi → Dong Nai bridge → Dong Nai.
Route 2: Saigon Bridge → Dien Bien Phu → turn right on National Highway 13 → Binh Trieu Bridge → go straight National Highway 13 → turn right on Binh Phuoc Roundabout → Do Muoi → turn left on Linh Xuan Roundabout → Hoang Cam → National Highway 1K → Dong Nai.
Route 3: Phu My Bridge → Vo Chi Cong → go straight through Phu Huu roundabout → Vo Chi Cong → go straight through Lien Phuong roundabout → turn left on D1 road → High-Tech Park → turn right on Vo Nguyen Giap → go straight to Do Muoi → Dong Nai bridge → Dong Nai.
Route 4: Phu My Bridge → Vo Chi Cong → turn right at My Thuy roundabout → Nguyen Thi Dinh → end of the road to Cat Lai Ferry → Dong Nai (Note: from 5am to 9pm, each trip is 10 minutes apart, from 9pm to 5am the next morning, each trip is 30 minutes apart).
Route 5: Khanh Hoi Bridge → Nguyen Tan Thanh → Tan Thuan 2 Bridge → Nguyen Van Linh → Huynh Tan Phat → Binh Khanh Ferry → Can Gio → Can Gio Ferry Terminal → Vung Tau
Route to move towards the Mekong Delta provinces
Route 1: Binh Dien Bridge → Nguyen Huu Tri → Tan Tuc → Binh Thuan - Cho Dem → Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway (or straight → Le Kha Phieu - National Highway 1) → Mekong Delta provinces.
Route 2: Cho Dem Bridge → Nguyen Huu Tri → Bui Thanh Khiet → Binh Thuan - Cho Dem → Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway (or straight → Le Kha Phieu - National Highway 1) → Mekong Delta provinces.
Route 3: Vo Tran Chi → Binh Thuan - Cho Dem → Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway → Mekong Delta provinces (or → Bui Thanh Khiet → Le Kha Phieu - National Highway 1 → Mekong Delta provinces).
Route 4: Nguyen Van Linh → Binh Thuan - Cho Dem → Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway → Mekong Delta provinces; or → Tan Tuc (Bui Thanh Khiet) → Le Kha Phieu (National Highway 1) → Mekong Delta provinces.
Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police recommends that vehicle drivers when traveling through the above areas need to reduce speed, comply with the instructions of traffic police forces, forces participating in ensuring traffic order and safety as well as the road traffic sign system.
