On February 11, according to PV's investigation, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Le Hai Hoa has just issued an urgent telegram requesting departments, branches, localities and related units to accelerate the progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway project.
Specific milestones are set, associated with each important holiday such as striving to open traffic to Dong Khe on April 30, 2026 and complete the entire phase 1 on May 19, 2026.
According to Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project has a total length of 121km, implemented in complex mountainous terrain conditions, many slopes over 50m high, lacking access roads.
The Provincial People's Committee assessed that 2025 is a difficult year when prolonged rain and floods for many months have damaged temporary works, swept away temporary bridges, and even engineers have been swept away by floods, these things greatly affect the construction progress.
However, with the efforts of investors, project businesses, consulting units, contractors and workers, the volume of excavation and embankment of the project has reached nearly 40 million m3, equivalent to the infrastructure construction volume of the entire Cao Bang province in about 5 years.
The parallel implementation of two phases also helps save about 1,000 billion VND in costs.
To ensure the set progress milestones, the Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee requested localities with projects passing through to urgently complete site clearance, hand over 100% of clean ground in February 2026, focusing on thoroughly handling bottlenecks such as IC04 intersection, TMC central area.
Project enterprises and contractors are required to organize construction throughout the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, increase shifts, increase crews, maximize favorable weather conditions; and at the same time review, transfer or replace contractors with limited capacity, especially in key sections from Km30 to Km38.
Along with that, quality supervision work must be tightened. Supervision consulting units and design consultants are required to strengthen on-site inspection, and promptly complete technical design documents and construction drawings to serve the next phase.
The early completion and opening of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, especially the section to Dong Khe, is expected to create an important driving force to promote socio-economic development, expand development space and strengthen inter-regional connectivity for Cao Bang province and the Northeast region.
