From July 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police force officially launched a peak period of general control and handling of road and waterway transport business vehicles. The campaign will last until August 25, with the goal of tightening management, ensuring traffic safety and order, preventing and reducing accidents.

In the road sector, the traffic police focus on strictly handling violations of alcohol and drug concentrations; speeding; carrying goods exceeding the load, carrying more people; stopping, parking, picking up and dropping off passengers in the wrong place; violating regulations on lane change and signal; not complying with instructions from authorities; using vehicles without inspection certificates or that have expired.
In addition, the authorities also check data from journey monitoring devices, driver images and transport business conditions.
For the waterway sector, the traffic police focus on handling violations of vehicle registration, technical safety, conversion of ships, carrying over the water markings, lacking life-saving equipment, and violating safety conditions at ports and wharves.

According to the Traffic Police Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police, the task force will increase patrols in areas identified as "hot spots", resolutely handling them strictly in the spirit of "respect for the law", "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
Along with handling work, the Traffic Police force has stepped up propaganda, requiring transport enterprises to strictly comply with legal regulations, ensuring vehicle conditions and professional skills of drivers. Units must closely manage and supervise employees, absolutely do not let drivers use alcohol, drugs, or drive unqualified vehicles.
The authorities recommend that organizations and individuals in the transport business need to raise awareness and responsibility in complying with legal regulations on traffic safety and order, contributing to reducing accidents and traffic congestion in the city.
