Recorded by reporters on the morning of April 25, right from 7 am, a large number of Ho Chi Minh City residents began their journey leaving the city to travel and return to their hometowns during the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday.
In the An Phu intersection area, thousands of vehicles flocked from Mai Chi Tho, Luong Dinh Cua and Nguyen Thi Dinh directions to go towards the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway. The sudden increase in traffic volume at the same time caused localized congestion in the expressway access road area.

Cars, passenger cars and trucks had to line up in long queues, moving inch by inch through the construction section at the intersection to enter the expressway. Traffic police were present very early to regulate and divert traffic, but due to excessive traffic pressure, congestion still occurred in many sections.
Mr. Tran Van Hai (42 years old, residing in Tan Hung ward) who is taking his family to Vung Tau for the holiday shared: "My family agreed to wake up at 5:30 am, prepare luggage to depart at 6 am to avoid traffic jams. But when I just arrived at Mai Chi Tho street, the bus was already crowded. It took me nearly 45 minutes to move through An Phu intersection to enter the expressway access road. On holidays and Tet, we have to work hard, everyone wants to go out early.

Until about 9 am on the same day, through continuous regulation by functional forces, the traffic situation at An Phu intersection and the expressway access road gradually became clear again. No longer congested like in the early morning, but due to the still large inflow, vehicles continued to line up to move slowly on the road towards Dong Nai.

It is forecasted that this afternoon and tomorrow morning, the traffic volume through this area will continue to be maintained at a high level. Functional agencies recommend that people should proactively update traffic information through map applications or radio stations to choose the most suitable route and travel time.
