Nghe An - Investigating the discovery of 18 skulls and many bones in Len Chua cave, the authorities have collected many more ancient ceramic relics.

On May 4, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper said that the authorities had discovered many objects suspected to be antiques at the scene of the grotto, including old ceramic pieces (partly broken). Combined with other relics such as shells, remains... it can confirm that Len Chua Cave was a place of residence of the ancient Vietnamese the source said.

The source also said that a few years ago, ancient traders were leaking information about the appearance of fossil bones from Len Chua cave. This information is currently being verified by the authorities to clarify signs related to theft of antique in the area.

According to experts, Nghe An is a land with many favorable conditions for ancient Vietnamese people to live. The archaeological site of Quynh Van (Quynh Luu district) once discovered many remains of the ancient Vietnamese people's residence. "Many caves in Nghe An are windy, near water sources, and have a lot of land, so the possibility of the ancient Vietnamese people living there is completely supported" - the source commented.

Regarding the question of why people used to go to Len Chua Cave but did not find any remains or antiques, now they suddenly found them, the source said that it is very likely because the cave has just been recently visited by a group of ancient archaeological excavators.

"Some local people have just discovered a group of strangers speaking ethnic languages, riding motorbikes, with suspicious signs of wandering around the Len Chua cave area, this could be a group of people stealing ancient objects," the source added.

As Lao Dong reported, on April 23, people in Nghia Thanh commune discovered 2 human skulls in Len Chua cave. After that, the authorities conducted an excavation and determined that there were a total of 18 skulls and many other bone sections, some of which were fossil and of larger than normal size. Currently, all bones and remains have been gathered for examination and clarification of their date.

Some exhibits such as snail shells and pottery shards were also collected at the scene. At the same time, statements from local people show that before the discovery of bones, a group of strangers had been wandering near the cave, raising many questions about the act of violating the archaeological site.

The case is being further investigated and assessed by the police in coordination with specialized units to determine the nature, origin of the remains as well as the archaeological value of Len Chua cave.
