According to Lao Dong on the afternoon of September 5, the children at Hoa Hong Shelter (Trung My Tay Ward, District 12) have been moved to a new home.
Of these, 15/86 children were transferred to Go Vap Child Care and Protection Center (Nguyen Van Bao Street) for care.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Director of Go Vap Child Care and Protection Center, said that the center is completing procedures to receive 15 newborn babies from Hoa Hong Shelter.
Here, babies are taken care of separately in the newborn room. The room is fully equipped with light, fans, and air conditioning. The room is also arranged with separate areas for making milk, changing diapers, and clothes for the babies. In particular, the center has arranged for each baby to have a separate crib.
According to Mr. Hai, to prevent measles, the children from the Rose Shelter will be quarantined at the center for 21 days. During the quarantine process, nannies must stay with the children 24/7. The nannies will try to stabilize the children's psychology, because they have been abused for a long time.
“Up to this point, no diseases that require high medical support have been detected. In the immediate future, the center will limit the level to the lowest level to prevent measles, because up to now, the center does not have records of whether children have been vaccinated against measles or not,” said Mr. Hai.
According to Mr. Hai, the children transferred to this point are all eating well. After that, according to their age, the center will allocate the children to appropriate departments and rooms, from which there will be further measures to support the children psychologically and educate them about skills.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, Deputy Head of the Neonatal Department of Go Vap Child Care and Protection Center, said that when she saw the children arriving, she was very moved, both pitying the children and angry at the inhumane actions of some nannies at Hong Shelter.
“We will give all our love, hug and comfort the children, to ease their pain in the old house,” said Ms. Binh.
