After 16 months of establishment, My Khe Beach Management Team in Quang Ngai rescued more than 40 people from drowning, creating a safe and friendly tourism environment for tourists.

My Khe Beach, located in Tinh Khe Commune, Quang Ngai City, is the most famous destination in the province, considered a "magnet" attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. With its wild beauty, clear blue sea water and rich culinary services, this place is an ideal place for entertainment and dining. However, the worry about drowning accidents at this beach is always a concern for many tourists. In the past, there have been many tragic drowning incidents here, significantly affecting the image of safe tourism in the locality.

Recognizing the importance of ensuring the safety of tourists, on January 1, 2024, My Khe Beach Management Team (under the Quang Ngai City Urban Order Management Team) was officially established. Since then, rescue forces have promptly rescued more than 40 cases of drowning and being swept away from shore. It is worth noting that there have been no deaths at this beach since the team was established.

The presence and quick action of the rescue team not only protects the lives of tourists, but also contributes to building the image of a safe, friendly and reliable beach. Thanks to that, My Khe is attracting more and more visitors to visit and swim, becoming a bright spot on the tourism map of Quang Ngai province.

According to statistics from My Khe Beach Management Team, during the holiday from April 30 to May 2, My Khe beach welcomed about 18,000 visitors to eat and swim. During this time, the team successfully rescued 11 people swept away by waves while swimming. Specifically, successfully rescued 3 drowning students on May 30.4; rescued and brought 5 students and 3 people and tourists to shore safely on May 1.

Mr. Pham Hoang An - Deputy Head of the My Khe Beach Management Team - said that the victims were swept away by waves while swimming in the afternoon, when thousands of people were coming to the beach to swim. Fortunately, these cases were discovered and rescued in time by local people and team members.

According to Mr. An, the management team has 14 members, of which 7 members participate in rescue and relief work and must be on duty regularly at the beach to promptly support people and tourists, especially in areas with flowing water far from the shore, high risk of drowning accidents.

People and tourists often come to My Khe beach in the beach area that is more than 1 km long. To ensure safety in this area, the Urban Order Management Team of City. Quang Ngai has deployed the placement of dozens of signs warning of safe swimming hours and warning signs of flow away from the shore. At the same time, warnings were issued, encouraging people to pay attention to safety while swimming in the sea through a fixed loudspeaker system, mobile speakers and horn.
