According to initial information, at around 10am on May 3, while fishing in the sea about 4 nautical miles from Cua Dai, Mr. Nguyen Van Sam, a fisherman in Tinh Ky commune (Quang Ngai city), discovered a body drifting at sea. Mr. Sam immediately reported to the Provincial Border Guard.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Border Guard force coordinated with relevant units to quickly approach the scene and bring the body to shore. Through verification, the victim was identified as Le Minh Khang (16 years old), residing in village 6, Duc Nhuan commune (Mo Duc). Khang is one of three students who went missing on the afternoon of May 1 while swimming at the beach in Tan Dinh village, Thang Loi commune.

Earlier, in the early morning of the same day, the rescue team found the body of Pham Anh Tan (16 years old), residing in village 1, Duc Chanh commune. The victim was discovered about 200m south of the accident site. Tan was a drowning victim in the coastal area of Duc Chanh commune.
The authorities have completed the necessary procedures and handed over the bodies of the two victims to their families for funeral arrangements.
Currently, the search for the remaining 2 victims is still being actively deployed by the authorities, with the support of local people.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the afternoon of May 1, two consecutive tragic drowning incidents occurred in Mo Duc district, causing 4 students to be swept away by waves and go missing. Immediately after the incident, local authorities and functional forces mobilized maximum means and human resources to make efforts to search for the victims.
