On March 18, the Nha Trang beach rescue team (under the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, Khanh Hoa province) said that the unit had just promptly rescued a tourist swept away by waves while swimming in the sea.
Previously, during a patrol along the beach, rescue forces discovered a tourist washed ashore by waves, struggling in the middle of a large stream of water.
Recognizing the dangerous situation, members of the rescue team quickly approached, deployed rescue plans and brought the victim ashore safely.
According to the Nha Trang beach rescue team, from the beginning of 2026 to now, the unit has successfully rescued dozens of cases, including local people and tourists, who encountered accidents due to being swept away by waves while swimming.
The rescue team commander said that recently, the weather in the area has had many unusual developments, sea waves are 2-3m high, posing a risk of sweeping away swimmers, especially in areas where offshore currents appear.
Although the Nha Trang Bay Management Board has placed many warning signs about dangers and advised people and tourists not to swim in the sea when the waves are big, there is still a situation of subjectivity, disregarding warnings to go into the water.
To ensure safety, rescue and relief forces have arranged 100% of their personnel to be on duty, strengthened patrols along the beach, and directly reminded people and tourists not to swim in high waves and strong winds.
The Nha Trang beach rescue team recommends that people and tourists seriously comply with warning signs, absolutely do not swim in the sea when the weather is bad to avoid unfortunate incidents that may occur.
