Quang Ninh General Hospital today (September 7) said that female patient N.T.H (31 years old), residing in Cao Xanh ward, Quang Ninh province, jumped from Bai Chay bridge, luckily was rescued by local people and taken to Quang Ninh General Hospital for emergency care in critical condition.
The patient was slow to approach, had pain all over the body, limited movement, had difficulty breathing, was swollen, and bruised in many areas of the body.
The patient was urgently given emergency care, consulted with specialists for a general examination and a whole-body catathon for assessment. Doctors diagnosed patient H with multiple injuries in shock: closed chest injury, fracture of 4 left ribs, lung contusion, subsided T3 thoracic vertebrae; liver rupture abdominal injury; complex fracture of the right flank, fracture of the upper and lower limbs of the right mucate due to high falls.
The patient was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit for treatment of stable circulation and respiratory function, ensuring his physical condition was qualified for surgery. After 5 days of intensive resuscitation, the patient was transferred to the Department of Neurosurgery - Spine for surgery.
Thanks to close coordination with the anesthesiologist and resuscitation team, the surgery took place smoothly in 1.5 hours, with little blood loss, and the lesions were effectively treated. After 2 days of surgery, the patient was able to sit up and practice walking after 5 days with the support of medical staff. Other injuries are treated conservatively and continue to be monitored.
