On June 2, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province said that the Veterinary Department of Region VII had tested pork samples collected at a store on Le Hong Phong Street (Soc Trang City).
According to Notice No. 0706/TB-TYV7-TH, no virus has been detected causing African swine Fever; classic swine Fever and Reproductive and Respiratory Disorder Syndrome in North American pigs.
Previously, on May 30 and 31, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province conducted a surprise inspection of 4 business locations in this province under the system of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company - Can Tho Branch.
On May 31, the Department of Animal Health of Region VII coordinated with the Inspection Team of Soc Trang province to collect a sample of pork at the CP store on Le Hong Phong Street.

As reported by Lao Dong, on the morning of May 30, a social media account posted an article saying that he used to work at a meat distribution store in My Xuyen district (Soc Trang province). This person accused the store and some leaders of bringing the meat to the market with poor quality.
The poster informed that the above behavior will seriously affect public health and hoped that the authorities would investigate and strictly handle if violations were discovered.
Regarding the incident, on the same day, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province Tran Van Lau directed the Soc Trang Provincial Police and related agencies to conduct an inspection, and if there were any violations, they would be strictly handled according to the law.
On the afternoon of May 30, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province inspected business location No. 12 (CP Fresh Shop in My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district), belonging to CP. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company - Branch in Can Tho.
At the time of inspection, the team had not discovered any business in sick pigs or sick chickens with a foul smell; the products were out of use. However, the certificate of food safety eligibility of the above business location has expired; the original business registration certificate; food safety training certificate of the business owner and sales staff have not been presented.
The inspection team proceeded to draw up an inspection record and temporary detention record for the items being traded at the facility at the time of inspection, with sealing and assigning owners to preserve, quantity and type of items according to the Provisional Detention Minutes 01/BB-TG, dated May 30, 2025 of the Inspection Team.
On May 31, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province sent an official dispatch to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hau Giang province to request coordination in verifying related images reflecting the smuggling of "dirty meat" to the market.
On June 2, the authorities of Hau Giang province organized a inspection team for a pig slaughterhouse in Long Thanh commune (Phung Hiep district) and a concentrated livestock and poultry slaughterhouse in Chau Thanh A district.
