The new era of Da Nang officially opens from today (January 1, 2025). Because Resolution 1251/NQ-UBTVQH15 officially takes effect.

Resolution No. 1251/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Da Nang city in the 2023-2025 period officially took effect from today (January 1, 2025). Thus, after implementing the resolution, Da Nang city has 8 district-level administrative units, including 6 districts and 2 counties; 47 commune-level administrative units, including 36 wards and 11 communes.

In Hai Chau district, Hai Chau 1 and Hai Chau 2 wards were merged into a new administrative unit, called Hai Chau ward. Phuoc Ninh, Nam Duong, and Binh Hien wards were merged into a new administrative unit called Phuoc Ninh ward. Binh Thuan and Hoa Thuan Dong wards were merged into a new administrative unit called Binh Thuan ward. Hai Chau district also adjusted the administrative boundaries of Thuan Phuoc ward and Thanh Binh ward to expand the administrative boundaries of Thanh Binh ward. After the arrangement, Hai Chau district has 9 wards.

In Thanh Khe district, merge Thanh Khe Dong and Hoa Khe wards into Thanh Khe Dong ward. Merge Tam Thuan and Xuan Ha wards into Xuan Ha ward. Merge Thac Gian and Vinh Trung wards into Thac Gian ward. Merge Tan Chinh and Chinh Gian wards into Chinh Gian ward. After the arrangement, Thanh Khe district has 6 wards.

In Son Tra district, merge An Hai Dong and An Hai Tay wards into An Hai Nam ward. Adjust part of the natural area of ​​Tho Quang ward to merge into Man Thai ward. After the arrangement, Son Tra district has 6 wards.

At the press conference in the fourth quarter, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that in addition to arranging departments and branches and merging them according to the Central Government's request, the departments and branches that are not included in the merger will be further streamlined, such as the Department of Health, the Department of Home Affairs, the Inspectorate, the Office of the Committee, etc. The spirit of reducing 15-20% of the focal points and departments. Public service units with overlapping functions when merging will also be calculated.

“The merger also creates many problems that need to be solved, besides saving time, having a focal point for handling work, and streamlining the apparatus to make it less cumbersome. Da Nang will resolutely do it and complete the arrangement according to the Central Government's requirements in the first quarter of 2025,” said Mr. Tran Chi Cuong.

Previously, the Da Nang City Party Committee also identified the theme for 2025 as "The year focusing on streamlining the apparatus associated with cutting administrative procedures, effectively implementing urban government organization and specific mechanisms and policies to strongly promote economic growth".

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, affirmed that 2025 is a year of special significance. This is the first year of implementing special mechanisms and policies of the National Assembly, along with many new legal documents that will create momentum for the city to achieve the highest results in implementing the Resolution of the 22nd Party Congress, term 2020-2025, creating momentum for the city to make a breakthrough in the term 2025-2030.
