On the morning of August 26, Da Nang City People's Committee organized a dialogue conference with businesses on human resource development. Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung and representatives of VCCI Central - Central Highlands branch and Department of Home Affairs co-chaired the conference.
According to Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung, human resource development, especially high-quality human resources, is decisive for competitiveness, investment attraction, innovation and sustainable development.
Da Nang currently has about 1.7 million people of working age. The rate of trained workers reaches over 73%, of which workers with degrees and certificates are about 37%.
However, human resources still do not fully meet development requirements. Some fields such as high technology, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, information technology, logistics, high-quality tourism and international finance are in need of many workers with professional qualifications, vocational skills, foreign languages and digital skills.
The city sets a target that by 2030, high-quality human resources will account for about 42% of total human resources. This rate is expected to increase to about 50% by 2045.
According to the Department of Home Affairs, Da Nang has advantages in terms of training system, investment environment, geo-economic location and the emerging innovation ecosystem. However, the city needs to quickly shift from the advantage of quantity to the quality of human resources.
At the conference, the city requested businesses to share recruitment needs, missing positions, requirements for qualifications, skills and foreign languages. This is the basis for completing the Project on developing high-quality human resources to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that the government, training institutions and businesses must participate together. In which, the State creates policies, schools innovate training, and businesses actively participate in developing workers.
