On January 15, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh signed Official Dispatch No. 277/UBND-KT, requesting the City Tax Department to urgently inspect, review, and advise the City People's Committee to update, adjust, and supplement Toyota car prices and some other types of cars according to regulations. Complete before January 20, 2026.
Previously, in Da Nang, there was information that a resident went to complete procedures to receive a Yaris Cross gasoline version, with a listed price of 662 million VND, and was informed by a Toyota car dealer in the city that the registration fee increased by more than 8.5 million VND compared to December 2025 (from 65.67 million VND to 74.2 million VND).
At the same time, the Price List for calculating registration fees for cars and motorbikes in the city attached to the Decision issued by Da Nang City People's Committee on December 29, 2025 does not include the name of the Toyota Yaris car line, and some other car lines are subject to tax calculation prices according to the old price not adjusted.
From information reflected by people, the City Tax Department discovered a negligence in the process of updating the Car Price List to submit to the Da Nang City People's Committee for decision. Because it is not included in the Price List applied from January 1, 2026, when dossiers for calculating registration fees for car buyers arise, the tax authority still applies the Temporary Price List according to the price not adjusted down, leading to an increase in the registration fee level as reflected in the press.
Currently, the City Tax Department is urgently reviewing and advising the City People's Committee to update, adjust, and supplement the prices of the above-mentioned Yaris Cross cars and some other types of cars whose prices have not been adjusted with the price list according to regulations in January 2026. At the same time, it will adjust the Notice of registration fee for car buyers and refund the amount of registration fee due to differences to buyers according to the provisions of the Law on Tax Administration.
