According to the Da Nang City Department of Finance, the lot of assets put up for auction this time includes cars, passenger cars and trucks with years of manufacture from 1990 to 2012. Most of these cars are still usable, except for 2 passenger cars that have expired. The auction is carried out based on decisions to recover and handle public assets of the City People's Committee, in order to ensure the management of state assets in accordance with regulations.
In this auction, the Mercedes-Benz E300 (W212) with license plate 80B-7879, manufactured in 2009, has undergone many auctions but has not yet been successful. Specifically, in 2023, the car had a starting price of more than 632 million VND, then decreased to 588 million VND in 2024 and 470 million VND in early 2025. In this latest announcement, the starting price of the car is only 282 million VND.
16 out of a total of 28 cars were put up for auction with a starting price of only 15 to 50 million VND per car. The remaining vehicles have prices ranging from about 60 million to more than 150 million VND, depending on the type, year of manufacture as well as the actual condition of each car.
Da Nang City Department of Finance affirmed that the auction process will be carried out publicly, transparently and in accordance with legal procedures for the management and use of public assets. Auction organizers with capacity and interest in this asset lot can submit applications to participate before January 10.
At the end of 2025, the City People's Committee approved an additional amount of more than 37 billion VND from the bonus source exceeding the budget revenue in 2024 to purchase new cars. This amount will be used to equip vehicles for general work for communes and wards in the city in the coming time.
