On the morning of August 10, at 53 Le Dinh Chinh (Ngu Hanh Son District), the Da Nang Red Cross Society coordinated with the Vietnam Food Bank Network (Food Bank Vietnam) to organize the Launching Ceremony of Food Bank Da Nang and introduce the "Da Nang Food Community" Project.
The event marks the official presence of Food Bank in Da Nang, becoming the 24th member of the Vietnam Food Bank Network and a pioneering model in the locality connecting food supply from businesses, manufacturers, farmers with those in need of support.
The Da Nang Community Food Depot is located at 53 Le Dinh Chinh, Ngu Hanh Son Ward, Da Nang City to ensure the ability to provide emergency support to people in areas affected by natural disasters, floods and other difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Le Thi Nhu Hong - President of the Da Nang Red Cross Society said that it is expected to become the first center for receiving and distributing relief food and a non-wasteful consumer community model in Da Nang, Food Bank Da Nang will play a role in connecting supply sources from businesses, farmers, and manufacturers with those in need of support such as poor households, vulnerable groups, people with disabilities, shelters, and open houses.
On the opening day, Food Bank Da Nang received the response and contribution of many benefactors with more than 100 million VND. In which, Mr. Tran Dinh Nam - a member of the Da Nang Red Cross Society - and a group of friends donated 2 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits worth 20 million VND; Da Nang Red Cross Pre-Agency Center donated 300kg of rice worth 5 million VND; Mr. Hoang Quoc Dat's family contributed 600kg of rice worth 10 million VND. Along with many supports from other businesses, individuals and organizations.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi - Chairman of the Vietnam Food Bank Network, the launch of Food Bank Da Nang and the implementation of the "Da Nang Food Community" project are not only local in nature but also contribute to building a humane and sustainable food ecosystem, towards the goal of "No one is left behind".
From 2016 to present, the Vietnam Food Bank Network has supported more than 11 million people, distributed over 53 million kg of food, served more than 21 million meals, and accompanied by more than 2,500 volunteers nationwide.
