Da Nang will consider adjusting the names of two routes

Nguyễn Linh |

The Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City said it will report to competent authorities to consider adjusting the names of Truong Vinh Ky and Le Van Duyet streets.

According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City, the street name Le Van Duyet appeared in the city before 1975 in Hai Chau district.

Due to the small size of the short road and the lack of house numbers, in 2013, the Street Name Advisory Council proposed an adjustment to Son Tra district on December 12, 2013 at the urban, commercial and service complex project in Nai Hien Dong and Tho Quang wards.

Truong Vinh Ky street was named according to the resolution dated December 11, 2014 of the City People's Council, in the residential area Nam Cau Cam Le - Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, extending from Phan Van Dang street to the border of Huynh Tinh Cua street.

Currently, across the country, many localities have relics and streets named after the two men, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Thuan, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Binh Dinh, Lam Dong, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Quang Ngai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau...

In Da Nang, the street names Truong Vinh Ky and Le Van Duyet have been familiar and associated with people for many generations. The street names have contributed to serving the urban management and administrative management of local authorities at all levels.

At the same time, create favorable conditions for people in terms of residential address, personal documents and in economic and social transactions...

Therefore, adjusting street names will have a significant impact on a segment of the population.

Therefore, the Department of Culture and Sports will report to competent authorities for consideration and decision on adjusting the names of these two road sections in the near future.
