Da Nang - The Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains discovered 2 more martyrs' remains and many artifacts and war relics at Da Sap Cave.

The Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains under the Military Command of Da Nang City said that they have discovered 2 more martyrs' remains at Da Sap Cave, Ha Nha commune, Da Nang city.

In the process of expanding the search scope, peeling off each layer of soil and rock in the area suspected of having traces of martyrs, the task force discovered bone fragments, fabric pieces, buttons and many traces left over from the war.

Notably, among the 2 martyrs' remains just discovered, one remain has relatively intact bone fragments; the remaining remains also have many bone samples that meet the conditions for taking biological samples for DNA testing and identity verification according to regulations.

Immediately after the discovery, the Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains organized the exhumation and preservation of remains and artifacts according to the correct procedures; and at the same time continued to expand the scope of survey and search in neighboring areas.

Through practical deployment, the task force identified Da Sap Cave as a large cave complex, with many alleys and many areas buried by soil and rocks.

From the discovered traces and information provided by historical witnesses, there may still be many remains of martyrs who sacrificed in the resistance war that have not been found here.

Previously, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Da Nang city organized surveys, verified information, and deployed searches in the Da Sap Cave area and discovered and repatriated 5 martyrs' remains. Thus, to date, the task force has discovered a total of 7 martyrs' remains in this area.

The City Military Command continues to direct forces to closely coordinate with functional agencies, local authorities and historical witnesses, persistently expand search and repatriation, determined to bring the martyrs back to their comrades, families and homeland.
