Crossing forests and streams to give Tet gifts to people in remote areas
Tra Tap mountainous commune (Da Nang City) is one of the localities that completed the earliest payment of support money to policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution and social protection beneficiaries according to the direction of the Government. The whole commune has more than 300 cases receiving support during this occasion.
Although the number of subjects is not large, Tra Tap is a large area, traffic is divided, many villages are deep in the forest, and to get there, you have to cross streams and overhill slopes. According to Mr. Quach Van Hau (hamlet 6, Tra Tap commune), after a year of suffering many damages due to natural disasters, the Tet gift came at the right time, adding motivation for people to stabilize their lives: "People are very excited, everyone feels warm when the Party and the State always remember difficult areas.
Up to now, Da Nang City has completed giving gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution, social protection beneficiaries, social retirees and vulnerable groups in the area, with a level of 400,000 VND/person, on the occasion of welcoming the 14th National Party Congress and the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
Tet comes early
Not only in the highlands, the joy of welcoming Tet early also spreads to residential areas in the plains. In Quang Phu ward (Da Nang City), in the days leading up to Tet, many policy households and people in difficult circumstances are also given gifts and financial support according to regulations.
Ms. Tran Thi Lanh (68 years old, Quang Phu ward), who is eligible for social protection, said: "In old age, living alone, my income is very limited. Every Tet holiday when the State cares, I feel not lonely. With a little more money, Tet is also warmer.
According to representatives of the government of Quang Phu ward, Tet support payments are deployed publicly, to the right subjects, at the right time, to ensure that all people have conditions to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet.
In addition to the gifts that have been presented, during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City continues to implement the plan to visit and give Tet gifts to the poor, near-poor households, families in difficult circumstances and people affected by natural disasters. Nearly 11,700 Tet gifts, with a total budget of approximately 11.7 billion VND from the city's "For the Poor" Fund, will be transferred to beneficiaries.
Along with that, localities also proactively support additional food, foodstuffs, and rice for particularly difficult families, ethnic minorities in mountainous communes, and workers who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns for Tet.
The Da Nang City Red Cross Society launched the "Tet of Compassion" Spring Binh Ngo 2026 movement, taking place from January 15 to February 10 (ie, November 27 to December 23 of the lunar calendar), striving to mobilize a minimum of 21.1 billion VND to support about 42,300 Tet gifts, each worth at least 500,000 VND.
According to Mr. Le Tri Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, this year's Tet care activities are implemented with a spirit of sharing and responsibility, aiming to ensure that all people, whether in mountainous or plains, have conditions to celebrate Tet warmly and fully, thereby consolidating people's trust in the concern of the Party, State and city government.
