According to a report by the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, the destruction of goods positive for African swine fever virus at the cold storage of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company started from 7:30 am on November 19, 2025, ending at 10 pm on the same day.
All destroyed objects have been buried to ensure safety, in accordance with regulations, with close supervision of all participants in destruction and are guided and supervised on destruction techniques by the Hai Phong Sub-Department of Fisheries, Livestock and Veterinary Medicine.
The amount of destruction included: 133.654 kg of lean pork sold by the subjects to Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company. In addition, a large number of processed and finished products included: 4,141.3 kg of sausage, 3,285.6 kg of special sausage produced from infected pork.
Goods positive for Salmonella spp bacteria stored in the cold storage of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company include 13,661.8 kg of frozen pork skin; 8,205 kg of imported frozen chicken skin, 6,030 kg of imported frozen ground chicken meat.
Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company also proposed to support the destruction of canned products processed from African pork meat contaminated with African swine fever supplied by business household Bui Duc Trong, including 134 cartons, 10 boxes (each carton containing 48 boxes) of lamppost pate, type 90 grams/box, production date September 6, 2025; lamppost pate, type 150 grams/box, production date September 7, 2025, including 156 cartons, 23 boxes (each carton containing 48 boxes). The total number of pate boxes destroyed is 13,953 boxes.
This quantity was transported on 7 cars hired by Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company from units with transportation functions to the disposal site at Dinh Vu Treatment Area - Hai Phong Urban Environment One Member Limited Liability Company, address Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Dong Hai Ward, Hai Phong City. On the car is attached the badge "CARRYING EXHIBITS AND MATERIALS FOR DESTRUCTION", covered with tarpaulins during transportation, sprinkled with lime powder, sprayed with disinfectant to prevent infecting pathogens into the environment.
The method of destruction is burial; the burial pit size is 8x30x44m, the bottom and surrounding of the burial pit are covered with tarpaulin, lime waste powder. Decomposed goods are put into the burial pit and then sprayed with biological preparations, filled with soil and roughened the surface of the burial pit, from the surface of the destroyed object to the ground at least 0.5m; fill with another layer of soil on the surface of the burial pit at least 1m thick, in order to minimize subsidence and air leakage causing a foul odor.
After completing the burial, functional forces spray disinfectant chemicals on the entire burial pit area and in the premises of the Dinh Vu treatment area, sprinkle lime powder on the surface of the burial pit, the path of transport vehicles. For Ha Long Boxing Joint Stock Company, after completing the transportation of the destroyed objects, spray disinfectant chemicals and sprinkle lime powder on the entire cold storage and surrounding areas.
The Investigation Police Agency - Hai Phong City Police assigned Hai Phong Urban Environment One Member Limited Liability Company to be responsible for protecting the safety of disposal pits, detecting and promptly reporting issues arising after disposal.
