Ho Chi Minh City strictly prohibits using public funds to give Tet gifts to leaders

Ho Chi Minh City - The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requests absolutely not to use public funds and public assets to give Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form.

The above direction was clearly stated by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee when thoroughly grasping the implementation of Directive 55-CT/TW of the Secretariat on organizing the 2026 Binh Ngo Tet.

Accordingly, Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the city must organize Tet safely, healthily, economically, avoiding formality, wastefulness and negativity.

Cultural activities, festivals, New Year's gatherings and traditional day celebrations must be organized in a compact, practical, and civilized manner; not ostentatious, not using state budget, vehicles and public assets against regulations for entertainment and festival activities.

Along with that, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested to strengthen security and order during Tet; proactively prevent, detect and suppress all types of criminal offenses, high-tech crimes, robbery, theft of property and social evils that often increase at the end of the year.

The management and use of firecrackers must also be strictly implemented, resolutely preventing the situation of illegal production, trading, and use causing insecurity and safety.

Notably, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested to strengthen inspection and supervision, and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate regulations, especially acts of wastefulness and negativity during Tet.

Do not organize visits and Tet greetings to superiors and leaders at all levels; strictly prohibit the use of public funds to give Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form.

For the field of labor - employment, agencies, units and localities must fully prepare conditions to promptly pay salaries and Tet bonuses, ensuring the legitimate rights of workers.

The city directs the implementation of solutions to support businesses facing difficulties, unable to pay salaries and Tet bonuses to workers; proactively prevent collective labor disputes, strikes, and layoffs.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee emphasized the promotion of the tradition of "mutual love and affection", practically caring for the lives of people, especially vulnerable groups. The city requests to accelerate the progress of social security projects, complete social housing targets, continue poverty reduction programs; review, repair, and build new houses, not to let temporary and dilapidated houses exist in the area.

The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also directed to mobilize many social resources to take care of Tet for the poor, people in difficult circumstances, policy families, workers, unemployed workers, lonely elderly people, orphans, children in particularly difficult circumstances and ethnic minorities, remote areas, border areas, islands, ensuring that all people can celebrate Tet warmly.
