On October 25, the Dak Lak Durian Association informed that the unit had just sent an urgent dispatch to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee to propose removing difficulties in the consumption and export of durian for the 2025 crop.
According to the recommendation, from October 11, 2025 to present, the laboratories designated to serve the testing of chemical residues (cadimi, gold O...) for durian products for export have temporarily suspended operations to maintain and upgrade the system.
This happened right at the time when the province was in the peak of the durian harvest, expected to last for another 20 to 30 days before the harvest ended.
The temporary suspension of laboratories has caused a series of serious consequences. Specifically, the enterprise was unable to complete the testing and certification procedures for export shipments according to regulations, causing nearly 2,000 durian containers to be congested at locations.
Due to the output bottleneck, businesses were forced to temporarily suspend purchases, causing durian prices in the market to drop sharply. Many farming households do not dare to cut their gardens, leading to the risk of thousands of tons of ripe durian falling and damaging right in the garden.

Dlie Ya commune is one of the latest durian harvesting areas in the province. Currently, many durian gardens have had deposits from traders, but prices and markets fluctuate, causing farmers to worry.
Because in recent days, due to continuous heavy rain, durian has fallen while traders are still hesitant to cut and purchase agricultural products.
According to the Dak Lak Province durian Association, this is a particularly urgent problem that if not handled promptly will cause disruption of the supply chain, instabilize the market and threaten the entire durian value chain.
In the face of the above urgent situation, the Provincial Durian Association recommends that the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee consider and direct 4 main contents.
Specifically: Urgently directing approved laboratories to soon restore operations, especially prioritizing support for the Central Highlands - Dak Lak in the final stages of the season; Establishing a "Fast-track" mechanism for durian testing samples for export during peak season.
Consider temporarily authorizing competent testing units in the locality (assessed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) to maintain the continuity of the production - consumption - export chain.
Departments and branches coordinate with the Association to review, count damage and issue timely support policies for businesses, cooperatives and people severely affected.
