On March 2, Dak Lak Provincial Police started construction of houses for poor and near-poor households under the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. The event took place in Ea Drong commune, Buon Ho town.
In 2025, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to build 4,285 houses for poor and near-poor households.
The total implementation cost is 342.8 billion VND. Of which, the Central Government supported more than 257 billion VND, the province contributed 85.7 billion VND. Each house is supported with 80 million VND.
In Buon Ho town alone, there are more than 1,500 poor and near-poor households. Of which, about 120 households are still living in temporary and dilapidated houses. The first house was built for Mr. Y Than Ksor's family (residing in Kmien village, Ea Drong commune).

Mr. Y Than said: "My family is a poor household, with 7 members. I have had a stroke for many years. Meanwhile, the house was built a long time ago and has deteriorated, and there are no conditions for repairs. With the support of the local government to build a house, I feel very happy, my family's life is less difficult".
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: "The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses demonstrates the responsibility of the entire political system and the spirit of solidarity of the whole society. The implementation process is in accordance with the spirit of Directive No. 42 of the Prime Minister "whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merits to contribute, whoever has property to contribute, whoever has little to contribute, whoever has a lot to contribute a lot".

Dak Lak is determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before December 31, 2025, according to the principle of "whatever house is completed first, accepted first, handed over first". The implementation ensures publicity, transparency, and the right subjects.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and grassroots authorities to pay attention to and supervise the implementation progress.
This is a program of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the concern of the Party and State for households with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties.
"This activity aims to help households soon stabilize their lives, ensure social security, and gradually rise out of poverty sustainably," the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.
