Passionate about social charity activities
The meeting with party member, student Nguyen Van Tu - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Automotive Faculty of Dong A University on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026) brought many positive emotions.
As a young party member, a typical youth union secretary, and a core member in the chain of community responsibility activities of Dong A University students, Nguyen Van Tu from the Automotive Department chose to "dedicate himself to live a truly meaningful life".
At the 76th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2026) at Dong A University recently, student Nguyen Van Tu – Secretary of the Automobile Faculty Union was honored with the "double" title "5-Good Student" and the "January Star" award at the Central level in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Along with that is a series of titles for this multi-talented and warm engineering student: city-level "5-Good Student" title, school-level "5-Good Student", excellent union member, student with excellent achievements in union work and student movement in the 2024-2025 school year.
On this occasion, Tu and the SOS Team of Dong A University were also commended for excellently completing their tasks in flood support for people in the Central - Central Highlands region in 2025.
With the SOS Team of Dong A University, Tu is also a core member in activities in recent years. Most recently, he was always "present on every km" in "rescue" trips to repair motorbikes for free for people in Hue, Da Nang and Dak Lak; participated in preparing meals to send to hospitals in flood-affected areas; supported the transportation of necessities and participated in reinforcing seawalls against storms... after the historic flood in 2025.
At the same time, Tu is also a positive factor in annual programs such as the Boarding House Bank supporting accommodation for students, supporting and 5 times participating in blood donation at Voluntary Blood Donation Days,...
Different from the image of a "leader" of young people who is eloquent, Tu is a bit shy when interacting. A bit taciturn, but doing things properly and always accompanying, present and silently supporting students behind the scenes in all activities... are beautiful "marks" in the hearts of students who have been "colleagues" and participated throughout the journey of community responsibility of Dong A University with Tu in recent years.
Looking back at the recent series of community responsibility activities, for Tu, it is full of intertwined emotions. “When I see each unit of my blood being received to help patients, I clearly feel the practical meaning of sharing. During the support trips to overcome the consequences of the historic flood in Hue, Quang Nam (old) and Phu Yen (old) in 2025, I and the SOS University of Dong A team cleaned houses, handed over necessities and directly repaired flooded motorbikes for free for people - essential means of livelihood after natural disasters. There were days of continuous work in mud and dirt, but when I saw people restarting the car, smiling and saying thank you, the whole team really burst into happiness. Those experiences helped me deeply understand the social responsibility that started from specific and kind actions, from bringing my knowledge and youth to serve the community - which is also the cultural value of responsibility that the University of Dong A nurtured and developed.
Young Party members full of positive energy
As a young party member, Tu places many expectations on practical mechanisms to help build a learning, scientific research and practical training environment for students - the successor young intellectuals of the country; developing science and technology, innovation right from the lecture hall; considering scientific research among students not only as a movement, but as an important channel to train a team of young intellectuals with independent thinking, bravery and social responsibility.
From my own learning and training process in the university environment, I realize that the quality of young human resources not only depends on the training program, but is also greatly influenced by the mechanism of encouraging research, innovation and space for students to experiment and experience reality," Tu shared.
Honored to join the Party ranks from the end of 2024 when he was a 3rd year student, Tu said that for himself, the process of studying and striving in the Party organization at school helps him to better understand the responsibility of a young party member in the new period: to constantly study, cultivate morality, improve professional qualifications and link knowledge with practice. A healthy, disciplined but creatively encouraging educational environment will be an important foundation for developing young human resources, a team of young students and party members with enough bravery, intelligence and belief to make practical contributions to the cause of building and developing the country in the new period, forming correct ideals, aspirations to contribute and the spirit of serving the Fatherland.
