According to the Quang Tri Provincial Civil Defense Command, at 11:30 p.m. on September 28, two fishing vessels BV-92756-TS and BV-92754-TS with a total of 13 crew members were anchored in Xuan Loc residential group, Bac Gianh ward (close to Gianh bridge) when suddenly broke their anchor ropes due to heavy rain and storm. The ships drifted freely and were in distress.
Immediately after the incident, the 4 crew members swam to shore safely, and 9 people are still missing.
4 crew members swam to shore safely, including Nguyen Trong Chi (Kien Giang), Sa LeH (identity not yet verified, An Giang), Tran Quoc Chung (Nghe An) and Dong Van Thanh (Thanh Hoa).

The remaining 9 missing crew members were identified as: Mr. Nam (captain, Kien Giang), Mr. Tho (captain, Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Van Si (Nghe An), Duc 8: 26, Nghe An), Phan Thanh Nhan (Kien Giang), Binh 8:3, Nghe An) and three people commonly known as Anh, Xi, Quan (not fully identified).
On the morning of September 29, the Quang Tri Border Guard coordinated with local authorities to mobilize ships, boats and dozens of officers and soldiers to search along the Gianh River and the coast, while taking care of and supporting the crew members who were rescued.
The search is still ongoing. However, due to the complicated developments of storm No. 10, the search and rescue work had to wait for more favorable weather to deploy.
Thus, up to now, the impact of storm No. 10 has left 12 people missing and 1 person injured in Quang Tri, the authorities are urgently searching and rescuing.
