The Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) has just reported on the response to storm No. 10 Bualoi.
At 4:00 p.m. on September 28, the storm was 120 km east of Bac Quang Tri, strong at level 12, gusting to level 15; moving west-northwest. Forecast at 4:00 a.m. on September 29, the storm will be on the mainland of Nghe An - Ha Tinh, wind level 10-11, gust level 13.
Regarding the rainfall, it is forecasted that from September 28-30, Thanh Hoa to North Quang Tri, the Northern Delta and the southern provinces of Phu Tho, Son La, Lao Cai will have heavy to very heavy rain of 150-300mm, locally > 500mm; other areas in the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain of 100-200mm, locally >350mm; South Quang Tri to Da Nang city will have rain of 40-80mm, locally >150mm.
As of 5:00 p.m. on September 28, provinces and cities from Ninh Binh to Quang Ngai have evacuated 11,340 households/28,563 people in the dangerous area (Ninh Binh 894 people; Thanh Hoa 1,716 households/6,958 people; Nghe An 488 households/1,168 people; Ha Tinh 8,136 households/16,577 people; Quang Tri 660 households/2,111 people; Hue 328 households/740 people; Da Nang: 61 people; Quang Ngai: 12 households/54 people). Currently, localities are continuing to organize the evacuation of households in dangerous areas.
According to a quick report from Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai provinces, storm No. 10 and heavy rain have caused damage (as of 5:00 p.m. on September 28) as follows:
- Regarding people: 1 person died (Hue City: 1 person was swept away by water on the evening of September 27); 4 people are missing (Quang Tri: 3 people in Cua Viet and Kim Phu commune; Da Nang: 1 person in Kham Duc commune). Currently, localities are continuing to verify specific information for these cases.
- Returning home: 86 damaged houses, blown off roofs (1 house in Nghe An, 3 houses in Ha Tinh, 6 houses in Quang Tri, 76 houses in Hue).
- Regarding agriculture: 759.5 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and damaged (Nghe An 750ha, Quang Tri 2.5ha, Da Nang 07ha).
- Flooding, traffic jams at 5 overflow points on the National Highway (Ha Tinh: 1 point on National Highway 8C; Quang Tri 04 points on National Highway 15D, 49C, 9B) and cutting off at some overflow points on rural traffic routes in Quang Tri.
- Cancel 42 flights, delay 51 flights (at Da Nang, Phu Bai, Dong Hoi, Tho Xuan airports).
