Accordingly, the Quoi Son sand mine on Tien River (in Quoi Son commune, Chau Thanh district) has a starting price of 6,444,424,000 VND. After 55 rounds of bidding, the highest bidder was Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, representing Thanh Huy Group Joint Stock Company, with the price paid for Quoi Son mine being 163,044,424,000 VND, 25.2 times higher than the starting price.
The An Duc - An Hoa Tay sand mine on Ham Luong River (in An Duc and An Hoa Tay communes, Ba Tri district) has a starting price of VND9,648,447,000. After 17 rounds of bidding, the highest bidder was Mr. Do Duc Binh, representing Hai Dang Joint Stock Company, with the price paid for the An Duc - An Hoa Tay sand mine being VND169,248,447,000, 17.5 times higher than the starting price.
The An Hiep - An Ngai Tay sand mine on Ham Luong River (in An Hiep and An Ngai Tay communes, Ba Tri district) has a starting price of VND8,322,380,000. After 17 rounds of bidding, the highest bidder was Mr. Do Duc Binh, representing Hai Dang Joint Stock Company, with the price paid for the An Hiep - An Ngai Tay sand mine being VND155,922,380,000, 18.7 times higher than the starting price.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Quoi Son sand mine has an area of 79.99 hectares, the expected exploitation depth is -14m, the approved reserve is 1,073,695m3. An Duc - An Hoa Tay sand mine has an area of 99.92 hectares, the expected exploitation depth is -12.7m and the approved reserve is 1,696,818m3. An Hiep - An Ngai Tay sand mine has an area of 80.01 hectares, the expected exploitation depth is -10.7m, the approved reserve is 1,463,610m3.
Previously, on December 21, 2023, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province issued Decision No. 2971 approving the plan to auction the right to exploit minerals for common construction materials (river sand) in Ben Tre province in 2024.
According to this decision, Ben Tre province will auction the right to exploit river sand minerals in 6 mining areas in the Ben Tre Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Of which, 3 mining areas have had exploration results and approved reserves in 2018, including: Quoi Son mine on Tien river; An Duc - An Hoa Tay mine and An Hiep - An Ngai Tay mine on Ham Luong river.
On the Ba Lai River, there are currently 3 mining areas without exploration results, including: the area in Phong Nam commune (Giong Trom district) and Long Hoa commune (Binh Dai district); the area in Phong Nam commune, Chau Hoa commune (Giong Trom district) and Chau Hung commune, Thoi Lai commune (Binh Dai district); the area in Chau Hoa and Chau Binh communes (Giong Trom district), Tan My commune (Ba Tri district) and 3 communes Thoi Lai, Loc Thuan, Phu Long (Binh Dai district).
