On August 26, the Provincial Party Committee, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches surveyed the actual progress of the cultural and tourism project of the Memorial Area of the late Playwright - People's Artist Vien Chau in Don Chau commune, Vinh Long province.
The project has a total investment of 70 billion VND, from socialization sources and the provincial budget, implemented in the period 2025-2028. Package No. 8 alone has a contract value of more than 54.49 billion VND, with a implementation time of 450 days.
According to the report, package No. 8 includes 23 items, with a production value of 34.646 billion VND, equivalent to 63.58% of the contract value. In which, many items are being focused on construction and completion.
Notably, the item of the zither symbol area and water music performance reached about 95%, the rough part has been completed and the completion part is being implemented. The leveling item also reached about 98%, belonging to the group with the highest progress.
In addition, the festival yard reached about 90%, the stone bridge reached 85%, the guest house, indoor performance house and service house also reached about 80%. The lake reached about 90%, the rough construction of 11/11 lakes has been completed and completion work is underway.

Package No. 8 starts implementation from August 11, 2025 and is expected to end on November 3. The province orients to complete the project, put it into service for people and tourists, and is expected to organize the inauguration on Vietnam Culture Day (November 24).
Speaking at the conclusion of the survey, Mr. Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee - acknowledged the efforts of the investor, construction unit and related parties in project implementation; and requested to continue to accelerate progress.
Mr. Lam Minh Dang requested that the construction process must ensure quality, safety and investment efficiency. The Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Don Chau commune to establish an art troupe to serve at the Memorial Area, contributing to promoting the value of the project.
