In order to implement the green transformation policy of the Hanoi People's Committee, in recent times, a series of electric vehicle charging stations have been installed and put into use at a number of bus stations in the city.
At Giap Bat Bus Station, a part of the area in the Southeast area with a site of over 500 m2 has been arranged to be a charging station dedicated to electric cars.
Up to now, 20 charging stations have been installed, meeting the needs of 40 electric cars with 5-7 seats and charging at the same time.
Mr. Ta Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of Giap Bat Bus Station said that the bus station started conducting a survey and installing charging stations from the beginning of June 2025, by June 10, it had completed the installation of 20 charging stations and electric cars could enter the charging station from this time.
With the advantage of charging stations at Giap Bat wharf, all have a large charging capacity, up to 120 kW/ost, so on average, each car with 5 to 7 seats is charged, taking only an average of 30-40 minutes of waiting. After being put into operation, the charging station at the bus station often has many vehicles coming to charge, especially at night" - Mr. Ta Anh Tuan informed.
At My Dinh and Nuoc Ngam Bus Stations, the station management unit is also studying to arrange the site and soon carry out the construction of installing charging stations.
The installation location must ensure factors regarding the usable area, convenience for people, and not affect the operation of picking up and dropping off passengers of other vehicles.
It is expected that the installation of charging stations at bus stations will be completed in 2025.

At Gia Lam Bus Station, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Deputy Director of Gia Lam Bus Station said that more than 30 electric vehicle charging stations have been and are being installed in the vacant land of the bus station.
"The installation is aimed at serving people charging electric vehicles. At first, it shows that the charging stations are working effectively, and the number of passengers is growing steadily, said Mr. Tuan.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Construction issued a document requesting bus station management units, parking lots, inspection centers and transport business enterprises to deploy and have reports on the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles and green energy vehicles.
The Department of Construction requires bus station management units, parking lots, inspection centers and transportation businesses in the city to organize a review of potential locations for installing charging stations for clean energy vehicles at the management unit, and promptly report to the Department of Construction.
Transport business units in the city will review and report on the implementation of charging station installation; plan to convert to green vehicles and install charging stations at parking lots and depots of the unit, and soon report the results.
