On the afternoon of August 23, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Party Committee held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.
At the congress, the decisions of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on appointing the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary and the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the new term were announced.
According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc was born in 1968, from Long An province, with a Master's degree in Geology and a Bachelor's degree in Geology.
On February 19, 2025, the Politburo transferred, assigned and appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc (then Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee) to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
Along with that, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
On February 20, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc was elected by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council as Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Before working in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc held many important positions in Long An province before, such as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An province.
The Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2025-2030 term consists of 11 members, the Executive Committee consists of 41 members and the Party Committee Inspection Committee has 7 members.
