In the face of consumers cautiously using pork when cholera epidemic broke out strongly, businesses in Da Nang quickly responded and replaced ingredients to retain customers.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Tram (character's name has been changed, doing business on Pham Nhu Xuong Street, Da Nang City) said that since the African swine fever epidemic occurred, the shop has replaced it and switched to selling beef filling bags even though the raw material price is slightly higher than normal.
"The price of beef bags currently being sold is 15,000 VND/piece. After replacing the filling, many customers still come here to buy normally and they are more assured" - Ms. Nguyen Thanh Tram said.

Not only business households, many students at Da Nang National University of Education have also adjusted their habits and eating needs during the outbreak period.
Trinh Thanh Thao (student of Da Nang National University of Education) informed - for the past week, instead of choosing to buy pork, he has switched to buying fresh fish, beef, chicken... to cook at home.
After reading the information reflected in the press and social networks about sick pigs still being sold on the market and floating on the river, Thanh Thao could not help but worry.
Many of Thao's friends have even chosen restaurants such as chicken noodle soup, fish noodle soup... to avoid dishes related to pork because they are insecure.
Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued a telegram (No. 02/CD-UBND) requesting all levels and sectors to urgently and drastically deploy solutions to cover and suppress the epidemic, minimizing damage caused by African swine fever (DTLCP).

For localities that are experiencing the epidemic, the city requires focusing all resources to completely handle the outbreak.
Specifically, it is necessary to immediately establish teams to handle outbreaks, spraying teams for poisoning and disinfection; organize the destruction of all sick pigs, dead pigs and pigs positive for DTLCP virus according to the correct procedure.
At the same time, propagate so that people do not sell or throw the pigs into the environment. Temporary checkpoints or mobile inspection teams will be set up to strictly control the transportation of pigs and pig products into and out of the epidemic area.
In areas without epidemics, local authorities are assigned the task of guiding livestock farmers to strengthen biosafety measures, hygiene, and regular livestock disinfection.
Da Nang City also encourages households exporting healthy pigs that have come in number to reduce the total herd, minimizing the risk of damage. The statistics of the total pig herd and the development of detailed response plans ( human resources, funding, destruction locations) must be proactively implemented.
